Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by our guide who will transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Kasese

After an early breakfast, you will drive to Kasese, the starting point for your Rwenzori trek. Enjoy the scenic views of the countryside along the way.

Day 3: Trekking Begins - Nyakalengija to Nyabitaba Hut

Your trekking adventure begins with a hike from Nyakalengija to Nyabitaba Hut. The trail takes you through dense forests and offers opportunities to spot various bird species and primates.

Day 4: Nyabitaba Hut to John Matte Hut

Trek from Nyabitaba Hut to John Matte Hut, passing through the bamboo zone and the Nyamuleju rock shelter. Enjoy stunning views of the Rwenzori peaks.

Day 5: John Matte Hut to Bujuku Hut

Continue your trek to Bujuku Hut, crossing the Bigo Bog and enjoying the beautiful alpine scenery. Bujuku Hut is situated near Lake Bujuku, offering breathtaking views.

Day 6: Bujuku Hut to Elena Hut

Trek from Bujuku Hut to Elena Hut, ascending steep slopes and passing through the Scott-Elliot Pass. Elena Hut offers close-up views of Mount Stanley.

Day 7: Margherita Peak Ascent

Attempt the summit of Margherita Peak, the highest point in the Rwenzori Mountains. After reaching the peak, descend back to Elena Hut for overnight.

Day 8: Elena Hut to Kitandara Hut

Descend from Elena Hut to Kitandara Hut, passing through the beautiful Kitandara Lakes. Enjoy the serene environment and stunning landscapes.

Day 9: Kitandara Hut to Guy Yeoman Hut

Trek from Kitandara Hut to Guy Yeoman Hut, descending through boggy and rocky terrain. The trail offers spectacular views of the Rwenzori Mountains.

Day 10: Guy Yeoman Hut to Nyakalengija and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Complete your trek by descending to Nyakalengija. After the trek, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 11: Game Drive and Boat Cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Enjoy a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, spotting various wildlife including elephants, lions, and buffaloes. In the afternoon, take a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, known for its high concentration of hippos and birdlife.

Day 12: Departure

After breakfast, you will be transferred back to Entebbe for your departure flight. This marks the end of your 12 Days Rwenzori Trekking Safari.
