5 Days Gorillas and Chimps

Overview

This 5-day safari will take you to the best national parks in Uganda where you will enjoy trekking both mountain gorillas and chimpanzees. You will visit Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for gorilla trekking and Kibale National Park for chimpanzee trekking. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to over 500 gorillas, half of the world's population of mountain gorillas, while Kibale National Park is famous for its population of habituated chimpanzees.

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Kibale National Park

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by a guide from African Buffalo Safaris who will transfer you to Kibale National Park. The park is home to the highest concentration of primates in Uganda including over 1,500 chimpanzees.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park

After breakfast, you will go for a chimpanzee trekking adventure. In the afternoon, you can choose to go for a nature walk in the Bigodi Swamp, known for its variety of bird species and other wildlife.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This park is known for its dense forest and is home to almost half of the world's population of mountain gorillas.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today you will go for a gorilla trekking adventure. This experience can take between 2 to 8 hours depending on the location of the gorillas. Once you find them, you will be allowed an hour to observe and photograph them.

Day 5: Departure

After breakfast, you will be transferred back to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight.
